It takes up much less power than any mobile data connection no matter how fast. A lot of people are mislead to think wifi is more expensive because it shows up in the battery app as its own category. But the true cost of your mobile data connection is hidden in cell standby category. Y5 is a good app to keep wifi from searching for networks which will cause battery drain.
